I've never heard of heart murmurs going away... But, anything is possible. If you're concerned, definitely go back to your doctor and ask for an echocardiogram to eliminate your worry. Hopefully that will help. You can also consider a second opinion if you really want to play it safe. Also, I tried to go to that other page. It's a dead link. Here's a page about murmurs for future readers. Heart Murmurs - Bicuspid Aortic Valve With Two LeafletsCheers,AdamAuthor Of "The Patient's Guide To Heart Valve Surgery Book"

Great resource...but now it has me even more concerned. I was diagnosed with a heart murmur at birth, but it has since (allegedly) disappeared. However, when reading the symptoms in the realage.com source, I see that sporadic rapid heart rates and lightheadedness are symptoms...I suffer these occasionally (with no good explanation). Should I insist that my doctor further investigate that my heart murmur did not in fact go away? Wouldn't she have detected it by now?

Here is a great online reference on heart murmurs and diagnosis. Hopefully it will answer some of your questions. http://www.realage.com/Connect...ealth/crs/htmurmur.htm
