My grandmother has been suffering from heart disease since well before me or my brothers were born (my mom recalls saying, "I hope she lives long enough for her to meet her grandchild" when she was pregnant with my oldest brother), is still chugging along, but my grandfather, who always seemed healthy and energetic, died quite suddenly from a heart attack. This confuses me. What should have been done differently to prevent his heart attack, or are their symptoms he could have recognized earlier so that he would have gotten to the hospital on time?
