my husband has had his stents in for 5 years. His ejection fraction is about 20%. Do you think he should talk to his cardiologist about replacing them to a newer type? what are the symptoms indicating the need for replacing stents?

My husband had 2 stents put in one artery. He never felt better, when he returned the following year for check up, they said both stents had collapsed. That was 4 yrs. ago. Can that artery be re-done or has he lost that artery?
