In 1989 I tore my ACL and incurred damage to the meniscus. Although I had an arthroscopy I did not have ACL replacement. I rehabed the knee and have been physically active, including racquetball. Three weeks ago I was playing racquetball, wearing my athlectic knee brace, and my knee gave way after landing on the side of my foot. Pain and slight swelling but no additional damage per MRI and orthopedic surgeon. How long before pain and stiffness disappear? I have been riding stationary bike and lifting light weights to rehab.
