Funny seeing that I wrote about this I thinks its mostly a labelling issue- I believe an ICD is a kind of pacemaker- or more properly in days of yore when pacemaker tech was younger the buzz was to call the devices pacemakers, but as the tech grew and the imp,lantable device could handle oter things sucha s fast or irregular heart rate as well as low heart rate the device "evolved" into an ICD or at least it seems more push has been made to call the devices ICDs. In nay case the border between pacemaker and ICD is not quite as clearly defined as we hope. My 2 cents...
